Meeting House Mews is an exciting mixed-use regeneration proposal for lands at Church Street and Meeting House Lane, Ballymena.
The proposals will include:
79 no. apartments - 21 no. one-bedroom and 57 no. two-bedroom units and 1 no. three-bedroom unit.
A dedicated 75sqm community hub, with its future use to be shaped through local engagement.
An enhanced pedestrian link between Church Street and Meeting House Lane.
Four retained and refurbished Church Street retail units, providing approximately 260sqm of commercial floorspace.
A landscaped mews with planting, seating and shared amenity space.
New homes helping bring additional activity and footfall into the town centre.

Regenerating an underused town-centre site
Meeting House Mews would transform a vacant former foodstore, service yard and underutilised site within Ballymena Town Centre into a high-quality mixed-use development, while retaining and refurbishing the established Church Street retail frontage. This would bring a long term sustainable use and new investment into a strategically important area of the town centre.
Bringing new homes, footfall and activity into the heart of Ballymena
The proposals would deliver 91 no. new one and two bedroom homes in a highly accessible location, accommodating more people within the heart of the town centre and walking distance of existing shops, services, leisure facilities and public transport. This additional town centre residential population would help support local businesses and strengthen town-centre vitality of both the day-time and night-time economies.

Restoring active frontage on Church Street
Meeting House Mews will rejuvenate the active frontage of the site at Church Street, providing tenants with modernised storefronts across retail, commercial and the community sectors, breathing life back into the town and the community.
Delivering a heritage-led scheme that supports wider regeneration
The emerging design responds to the character of the surrounding area and draws on the positive design elements of Meeting House Lane, First Ballymena Presbyterian Church and St Patrick’s Tower, using carefully considered massing, materials and building heights. The scheme has also been designed to complement future investment on neighbouring sites and contribute positively to the wider regeneration of central Ballymena.
Creating better connections, public realm and community space
A new landscaped mews will enhance the connection between Church Street and Meeting House Lane, providing an attractive pedestrian route with planting, seating and shared amenity space. A dedicated 75m² community hub would add further local value and create opportunities for community use alongside the new homes and retained shops.
